We work to promote child welfare and educational opportunities in our state, and we have been recognized for providing leadership in the minority owned business community. My Nana's Salsa Challenge

My Nana's Salsa Challenge is one of Arizona's premier community events! Join us each April at Tempe Beach for live music, fun, My Nana's chips and tortillas ... and SALSA! Every year over 75 professional and amateur chefs are on site, preparing fresh salsa and competing for a fabulous grand prize trip. Salsa Challenge categories include individual, restaurant, and business, with hot and mild divisions in each.

The event also features a 5k, cornhole tournament and margarita mix-off. Proceeds from the Challenge benefit the Arizona Hemophilia Association.

Because we care about our community and its children, La Canasta Tortilla Company teamed up with the March of Dimes Arizona Chapter to help our state have healthier babies. Mercado de La Canasta was a new addition to the 2010 March of Dimes fundraiser. Through Mercado de La Canasta, we celebrated Latino culture and highlighted the importance of the March of Dimes mission within the Latino community. The Alzheimer’s Association

Joining hands in a Special Partnership to support the Mission and Purpose of the Alzheimers Association for all those affected by Alzheimer’s and Dementia. La Canasta Tortillas — proud home of My Nana’s “Best Tasting” has joined the Alzheimer’s Association sharing their vision: A world without Alzheimer's. Mission: To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of Dementia through the promotion of brain health.

La Canasta Mexican Food Products will donate 1% of each sale of My Nanas Best Tasting products to the Alzheimer’s Association for a minimum guaranteed donation of $25,000. To learn more about the Alzheimer’s Association, visit http://www.alz.org.

La Canasta's Tortilla Time Fundraising program offers students and schools the opportunity to earn money selling our delicious tortillas and chips! Fresh tortillas are a staple in almost every household, so what better way to raise money for your school than with some of the best tortillas in the world?

All you have to do is collect the orders, and we'll deliver fresh, delicious tortilla products directly to your school. We provide uncooked flour tortillas, burrito size flour tortillas, corn tortillas, and La Canasta Restaurant Style Tortilla Chips - and with a 50% or higher profit margin on each item, our Tortilla Time Fundraisers are a sure winner!

AZ Taco Festival Event

On October 9th, 2010, My Nana's™ competed in the Arizona Taco Festival in Scottsdale, winning 1st place in the chicken taco category! The event was sponsored by the National Taco Association and the competition featured dozens of Arizona restaurants. The 2010 Arizona Taco Festival also included a Margarita Challenge for local bartenders. Besides tasting some of the best tacos and margaritas in the Southwest, visitors to the Arizona Taco Festival enjoyed a tequilla expo, live music and lucha libre.
